Extreme Engineering, a leading adventure attractions company, has made several announcements regarding new products and upcoming ride installations at IAAPA Expo 2022.

Extreme Engineering unveiled its latest inventions in front of global attractions industry owners and operators, as well as journalists from across the world, including the unique Parkour Around attraction, the patent-pending Flex Shade, and locations for three new Cloud Coaster installations.

“Extreme Engineering has been a leader in providing exclusive and patented rides and attractions, including our globally recognized Cloud Coaster roller coasters,” said Extreme Engineering chief development Phil Wilson. “Today we are so proud to announce the locations of our latest Cloud Coaster installations, as well as two incredible new products, we know will support park and attraction operators to provide safe, fun experiences to their guests.”

Parkour Around

The all-new Parkour Around attraction offers guests of all abilities nearly infinite options for physical pleasure. Participants will be linked to a patent-pending support system that will allow them to jump higher, scale higher, and leap lengths previously unimaginable.

Extreme Engineering’s cutting-edge technology took ten years to develop and was designed to combine video game player talents with actual human capabilities and enthusiasm.

“Parkour Around has been designed to transform riders into video game superheroes,” announced Wilson. “Participants will be able to fully experience what they previously could only imagine while playing their favourite video games. The Extreme Engineering difference means they will at long last truly be the star in a life-sized, freerunning video game-style adventure.”

Parkour Around can be developed with official licencing and intellectual property, giving clients personalised options. The award-winning interactive experience includes obstacles and time challenges, as well as the sensation of weightlessness, so guests are not limited by their age, height, weight, or physical ability. Parkour Around is ready for production, and clients can expect the entire installation to be completed in only eight months.

Flex Shade

Extreme Engineering revealed their new patent-pending “Flex Shade” technology, recognising that direct sunshine can be too much for park and attraction visitors. The new system’s flex rods produce load tension using the company’s unique flex rod technology, reducing the heavy hardware required by traditional sail shade systems. Due to the Extreme difference, the Flex Shade does not require big concrete pilings for installation, providing clients with a cost-effective alternative.

“After years of research and testing, it is finally time to bring Flex Shade to the marketplace,” Wilson continued. “Flex Shade will change the shade structure industry forever. Our design does not detract from or block surrounding scenery, landscaping or the themed facades of a theme park or resort location.”

Extreme Engineering said during the press conference that Flex Shade is available in triangle and square shapes, as well as bespoke size and shape possibilities. The product will be available in more than six conventional colours, and screen printing is also an option.

Cloud Coaster Trio

Extreme Engineering has solely created and built the Cloud Coaster, a family-friendly roller coaster, since 2015. Three Cloud Coasters, the company’s hallmark attraction, will launch in three different states, making 2023 “cloudy with a chance of joy” for coaster aficionados.

Following the announcement of a partnership with Wilderness in the Tennessee Smokies earlier this year, the company provided an update, stating that the suspended track installation is set to open on time. The path of the ride will arc around the resort’s indoor Forest Family Adventure Park. Riders will soar above and around activities such as a themed mini golf course, a mini bowling alley, a laser-tag attraction, and a ropes course. With a length of nearly 400 linear feet, the Cloud Coaster will provide resort guests with a bird’s eye view of everything there is to see and do.

The largest outdoor Cloud Coaster to date will open in Corsicana, Texas, at Richland Chambers, in the same state as Extreme Engineering’s corporate offices. The coaster will stand over 60 feet tall and have over 820 linear feet of track, with two lift hill sections for optimum thrills.

Extreme Engineering will introduce its first Cloud Coaster on the West Coast in 2023, completing the trio of new coasters. This ride will be slightly over 300 linear feet long and will complement the adventure park’s other attractions when it debuts at Sports Wenatchee, an indoor giant adventure park in Wenatchee, Washington.

Extreme Engineering’s announcements at the IAAPA Expo present the most recent information as the company continues to innovate with new products, rides, attractions, and solutions.

Extreme Engineering will be present at the IAAPA Expo until Friday 18 November on booth #2600.
