This year, Lane7 is opening two new venues in London and its first attraction in Europe, and Level X is launching a new site in Middlesbrough.

Lane7 offers a boutique bowling experience, while Level X is a family entertainment concept with futuristic and immersive attractions.

The new Lane7 sites in London will launch before the end of this year, as will a second venue in Birmingham – the brand’s largest to date.

Additionally, the first Lane7 attraction in Europe is due to open in Dublin this year. More sites are planned for Nottingham, Belfast, Cardiff, York and Altrincham.

Family entertainment in the UK and Europe

Tim Wilks, the owner and founder of Lane7 and Level X, said: “When we launched the Lane7 brand 10 years ago in Newcastle, the insane customer response immediately told us we had a pioneering concept that other locations across the UK would love.

“Making plans for an aggressive European offensive and to land hard in London with two sites this year is an enormous statement of intent.

“We dream big and then deliver. It’s what we do.”

As for Level X, the first of several new venues will be opening in Middlesbrough in the first half of 2023. This comes after the opening of the first Level X in Glasgow.

Per a press release, the new Level X in Middlesbrough will be bigger and better than the attraction in Glasgow. It will create a platform for futuristic gaming brands such as Alt-Verse and Big Putts, and will include AI-driven games and attractions.

The centrepiece in Middlesbrough will be a new concept called ‘Drift Hall’, an indoor karting track with electronically synced karts.

“Racers will be able to drop virtual banana skins, leave virtual oil patches or throw virtual bombs that will have the ability to physically slow or stop rival racers,” said Wilks.

“It’s a mind-bending concept, mixing virtual and real-world experiences. Level X is the future of entertainment today.”
