Aardman, the award-winning UK studio, has announced Aardman in Concert, a major new touring production created in partnership with Carrot Productions.

The 50th anniversary tour is scheduled from May to October 2026, featuring Aardman’s beloved characters on the big screen, accompanied by live orchestras and a special appearance by Wallace and Gromit.

It will tour concert halls, festivals, and cultural venues, celebrating beloved characters and stories enjoyed by generations, brought to life by the energy and warmth of a live orchestra. People of all ages are welcome to experience classic moments from Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Morph, Creature Comforts, and beyond.

Celebrating 50 years of Aardman

The first half of the performance celebrates Aardman’s remarkable 50-year history. It begins with a new montage and score, specifically made for this event, highlighting Wallace & Gromit’s most adventurous moments, Shaun the Sheep’s funniest moments, and appearances from characters now part of everyday family life.

The second half includes a complete screening of either The Wrong Trousers or A Matter of Loaf and Death, each with live orchestra.

In The Wrong Trousers, Wallace’s choice to host a lodger sparks chaos when the sly Feathers McGraw devises a daring criminal scheme, forcing Gromit to race against time to rescue his clumsy owner.

A Matter of Loaf and Death features the pair running a bakery and falling into peril again, as Wallace becomes distracted by a romance with Piella Bakewell and Gromit takes action to thwart a serial killer and save the day.

Together, the films and music offer a joyful tribute to British storytelling, craftsmanship, and humor. They create an opportunity for families to laugh together, share memories, and pass down characters that have been part of our lives for decades.

Rachel Whibley, managing director of Carrot Productions, says: “Celebrating 50 years of Aardman with a live orchestra feels incredibly special.

"These are characters many of us grew up with, and now we’re seeing families bring their own children to experience them live. Creating something that parents, children and grandparents can enjoy together is exactly what Carrot, and our friends at Aardman, are about.”

Molly Van Den Brink, senior attractions & live experiences manager at Aardman, says:

“What better way to continue our longstanding partnership with Carrot Productions than celebrating our 50th anniversary together, allowing fans of all ages the chance to experience our favourite Aardman moments from the last 50 years in such a joyful and uplifting concert, while introducing children to the wonder of a live orchestra."

A strong partnership

The show continues Carrot Productions’ long-standing collaboration with Aardman, building on the success of the award-winning Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels, which had a 38-show tour in 2019.

This production debuted at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, where Nick Park and Julian Nott met. It was also where A Grand Day Out was first conceived.

The show later received the Best Licensed Live Event award at the Licensing Excellence Awards 2020, further establishing Carrot’s reputation for producing unique live orchestral experiences featuring Aardman’s beloved characters.

Between 1 May and 26 October 2026, Aardman in Concert will visit numerous concert halls, festivals, and cultural venues, with stops in Birmingham, London, Salisbury, Guildford, Bristol, Glossop, St Albans, Budleigh, and Chester.

From prominent city stages to popular regional festivals, the tour allows families nationwide to enjoy Aardman’s stories on the big screen, complemented by the unique atmosphere of a classical orchestra, often for the first time.

Aardman will also celebrate the milestone through a new partnership with Bristol Museums. Cracking Exhibition Gromit: 50 Years of Aardman in Bristol at M Shed will give fans of all ages a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Aardman’s creative process, beloved characters, and the studio’s strong ties to Bristol.
