Cynthia Whitbred-Spanoulis is president and CEO of the Virginia Aquarium and executive director of the Virginia Aquarium Foundation. In her role as the aquarium’s president, she has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and vision. Whitbred-Spanoulis’ dedication to furthering the Virginia Aquarium’s mission is evident in her strategic initiatives and innovative programmes. Featuring more than 8,000 animals from 300 different species, it provides visitors with an immersive experience by showing a variety of aquatic habitats.
