Audubon Zoo Beats The Heat With New Gator Run

News

Audubon Zoo in New Orleans is opening a new chill-out Gator Run to help visitors cool off when the temperatures start to soar.

The lazy river is the latest addition to their Cool Zoo splash park and boasts two sandy beaches and four water cannons that can shower visitors as they float by. One circuit around the 750 feet water course takes about 7 minutes atop an inner tube and gives visitors a new way to enjoy animal exhibits.

Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO, Ron Forman, explains, “When the temperature rises in southeast Louisiana and across the Gulf South, families are always looking for new ways to cool down”.

The lazy river expands the water park significantly to nearly 60, 000 square feet and includes showers, restrooms, outdoor seating and a concession area.

Forman adds: “As we celebrate the fifth summer for Cool Zoo, we are excited about the addition of Gator Run as yet another summertime option to beat the heat.”
