Stays at The Reserve will help to fund the zoo’s conservation work

Chester Zoo has released new images of its overnight lodges, which open in August and will provide safari-style accommodation.

The 51-lodge hotel is called The Reserve and will provide various lodges and an immersive stay. Some lodges are located at the side of a lake, and others offer views of a private savannah-style habitat, home to northern giraffes.

“There’s nothing else quite like The Reserve at Chester Zoo in the UK,” said Jamie Christon, CEO of Chester Zoo.

“It’s so much more than just a short break – it’ll provide guests with unforgettable experiences and bring them face-to-face with extraordinary animals, all while helping to protect the wild world and fund powerful conservation action.”

Scheduled to open in August, the lodges have been created using natural and sustainable materials. The interiors are inspired by African landscapes, a nod to the zoo‘s conservation work in Africa.

“What’s very special about this project is that stays at The Reserve will help to fund our species-saving conservation work, both here at the zoo and over in Kenya and Uganda, where our teams are working to secure a brighter future for highly endangered species like the eastern black rhino, giant pangolin and mountain bongo,” Christon added.

An immersive stay at Chester Zoo

As for wildlife experiences, guests at The Reserve will get to interact with conservation experts and animals, and will enjoy out-of-hours access to Chester Zoo.

Additionally, the resort includes a welcome building with its own restaurant. The Amboseli Restaurant is named after the region in Kenya where the zoo and its partners work to protect lion populations.

Additionally, a lakeside terrace called Tsavo Lounge will serve F&B.

Christon said guests will enjoy “freshly prepared meals, before taking in conservation stories while relaxing by our fire-pit on our lakeside terrace with blankets, cushions and toasting marshmallows”.
