The Turkish firm installed filtration systems for major new aquarium in Vietnam

Polin Aquariums, a leader in international aquarium installation, has announced that one of its largest installations has officially opened in Vietnam.

As one of the largest aquariums in the world, The Sea Shell contains over 20 million litres of water and benefits from some of the most technologically advanced international aquarium facilities.

The Sea Shell can be found at the largest theme park in Vietnam, VinWonders Phu Quoc. This park is split into six areas including Adventure World, European Streetmosphere, Mysterious Viking Village and Typhoon World.

Following Polin Waterparks’ completion of the water park area, the team at Polin Aquariums designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned the building’s essential Life Support Systems including the automation and BMS. The building concept was designed by Legacy Entertainment.

The project comprises almost 70 compact filtration units, 14 record-breaking MS-1000 Protein Skimmers (manufactured by ADEC), and a total of 92 skimmers. All system components have been configurated to ensure the most satisfactory filtration solution for healthy marine life.

The final area is the Sea Shell, containing 20,486 cubic metres of water, and circulating 26,367 cubic metres of filtered water through its Life Support Systems. Polin Aquariums installed over sixteen kilometres of PVC pipe, including 750 mm diameter pipes which benefit from the hydraulic press installation method to provide long-term smooth operations.

A Polin Group representative says: “We would like to thank Vin Group for trusting the quality of Polin Aquariums and we are happy that we would be able to contribute to this remarkable project. We also would like to appreciate the hard work of our project team since they were present on-site during the lockdown and dedicated themselves to finalising the project.”

Last month, Polin Aquariums also finished work on the largest aquarium in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi’s National Aquarium.
