M. Verónica Celis Vergara is a sustainability strategist, impact-tech entrepreneur, and architect by training. She is the founder and CEO of Valumia, a platform that automates environmental, social and governance risk detection in supply chains using companies’ existing purchase data. Her mission is to make supply chains resilient, and fair, particularly for the SMEs that form the backbone of the global economy. Celis Vergara has spent more than 15 years working at the intersection of design, technology, and sustainability. She has worked in pioneering projects across Latin America, including Argentina’s first LEED-certified industrial building and Chile’s first environmental analysis models for the mining sector. Later, as chief sustainability officer at Maurer Rides, she authored the roller coaster industry’s first sustainability report and designed net-zero transition strategies. She is also the former co-founder of EnlightAID, an award-winning Norwegian transparency platform. Celis Vergara holds a professional degree in architecture and a Master’s in Landscape and Territory from Universidad Diego Portales in Chile, and an MBA from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. She is currently pursuing a PhD at HHL on sustainability in supply chains and SME resilience. She has delivered talks at TEDx HHL, Oslo Innovation Week, IAAPA Expo, greenloop Europe, Sustainatopia USA, and others.
