Chapek assumed leadership of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products with its creation in March 2018. He previously served as chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts from 2015.
In addition to Disney’s six theme park resorts, he also has responsibility for the company’s cruise line and global consumer products operations.
With just 12 theme parks and two water parks in California, Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong, Disney entertains an annual international audience of over 155 million. This makes it by far and away the market leader. Multi-million/billion investments continue at all resort properties, guided by blockbuster brands from Disney’s powerful intellectual property portfolio. With Marvel and Star Wars – plus home-grown hit Frozen – now part of the family, that portfolio is stronger than ever.
During 20 years of leadership with Disney, Chapek has also served as president of distribution for Disney Studios and Home Entertainment. Within the parks business, he is credited with championing the latest technology to drive growth and improve the guest and consumer experience, while developing new business models and revenue streams.
