Aardman partners with British Council on Animate! with Aardman learning experience

News
Aardman is partnering with the British Council to provide Animate! with Aardman

Aardman, the award-winning UK studio, is collaborating with the British Council to provide the Animate! with Aardman learning programme at 10 international learning centres.

Animate! with Aardman is an edutainment experience created by the studio’s acclaimed creative talent. It aims to provide attendees with a solid introduction to filmmaking and all the learning tools needed to get started in stop-motion animation.

Flexible education programme

Ngaio Harding-Hill, head of attractions and live experiences at Aardman, explains: “A key aim of Animate! with Aardman is to make it a fully accessible learning experience, inspiring a new generation of filmmakers from a diverse range of backgrounds.

“The British Council partnership will have a huge impact on reaching these goals as it allows the experience to reach audiences across APAC, MENA and Latin America in its pilot year with the ambition to roll out globally in 2025.”

Hamish Buchan, young learner product and services manager at the British Council, comments: “We are excited about building our partnership with Aardman & the opportunity to pilot Animate! with Aardman in 10 of our centres. Together we aim to combine our expertise to offer our students courses that spark their natural interests to make learning English a fun and memorable adventure.”

The Animate! with Aardman education programme is designed to be flexible for a range of different settings. It can be provided as a live experience facilitated by an event leader for attractions, LBE, summer camps, and festivals. The programme is also suitable for classroom settings led by a teacher for school holiday activities or extra-curricular events and as an entirely self-led online learning resource.

The deliverables are adaptable and can be customised to each partner’s needs.

Last year, Aardman and Katapult revealed a new themed attraction concept at the IAAPA Expo Asia in Singapore. The World of Aardman features the studio’s popular characters in a hands-on, entertaining turnkey concept. The attraction includes an interactive studio experience, themed cafe, immersive retail, and photo opportunities with the visitors’ favourite characters.
