Changi Airport in Singapore is celebrating Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary this winter with themed topiaries, rides, games and exclusive merchandise.
The Hello Kitty experiences are on offer at the airport’s fifth edition of the Changi Festive Village, which is marking Hello Kitty’s golden jubilee from 1 November until 16 February 2025.
Kawaii attractions in the terminal 3 departure hall include an 8-metre-tall Hello Kitty topiary. The event also includes topiaries of Sanrio characters My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin.

At T3’s arrival hall, an immersive carnival features nine zones with larger-than-life figures of Sanrio characters, from Pochacco to Hangyodon.
The carnival also provides Sanrio-themed rides, games and photo booths, and workshops where guests can make their own Sanrio keepsakes. Highlights include a 7-metre-long rainbow slide and the Little Twin Stars carousel.
Additionally, Sanrio pop-up shops are located in the departure halls of terminals 2, 3 and 4, and meet-and-greet sessions with Hello Kitty and friends are being held on selected weekends in November and December.
Ang Siew Min, senior vice president of airport operations services at Changi Airport Group, said: “Sanrio‘s iconic characters, such as Hello Kitty, have transcended generations, endearing themselves to both the young and the young-at-heart.

“We are delighted to bring these beloved figures to life at Changi Airport, offering a nostalgic journey for long-time fans and an exciting introduction for newcomers.
“This vibrant celebration reinforces our commitment in creating immersive and memorable experiences for all visitors to Changi Airport.”
As well as the Hello Kitty experiences, Changi Airport has debuted its first water park, albeit an inflatable one. Cosmic HydroPark is located at the T3 coach bay just beyond the Hello Kitty carnival.
Changi Airport is home to the £951 million Jewel entertainment destination, which boasts the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, a giant trampoline, hedge and mirror mazes, gardens, and grassy areas that emit mist so that children feel like they’re playing in the clouds.
