Hasbro unveils “new thrilling, location-based entertainment concept

After the launch of Monopoly Lifesized, The Path Entertainment Group and Hasbro are turning the Clue (Cluedo) board game into an immersive experience.

Clue Lifesized is described in a statement as an “immersive competitive social experience” and will launch in time for the murder mystery game’s 75th anniversary next year.

The Path Entertainment Group is behind location-based entertainment (LBE) experiences such as Monopoly Lifesized and a Saw-themed escape attraction in London. The former opened in 2021 in London and has welcomed more than 160,000 guests to date.

“Monopoly Lifesized has enjoyed two very successful years in London already, showcasing the power of the brand with the creative thinking at Path Entertainment – and has gone on to be successfully sub-licensed in the KSA, as we continue to rollout the experience internationally,” said David Hutchinson, CEO of Path Entertainment.

“From the start of our relationship with Hasbro we’ve always felt Clue was a natural IP for us to explore – it’s innately theatrical, and combined with its nostalgic family favourite mystery origins it’s the perfect brand for our team to play with and create a new thrilling, location-based entertainment concept.”

Matt Proulx, vice president of global experiences, partnerships and music at Hasbro, said the company aims to develop gaming experiences “that are fun to play, fun to watch and fun to share for fans of all ages”.

Hasbro games transformed into LBE

“In joining forces with Path Entertainment, we’re able to deliver on this and more with innovative and immersive versions of fan-favourite games,” he added. “Fan response has been overwhelming for Monopoly Lifesized, so it was a no-brainer to reimagine another iconic Hasbro gaming property as a large as life experience with Clue Lifesized.

“Coming off the heels of this year’s refreshed Clue board game release and just in time for the brand’s 75th anniversary in 2024, fans will be able to put their investigative skills to the test as they sleuth to uncover answers to the game’s famous questions – who, where and with what.”
