Children’s entertainment brand CoComelon is getting its first location-based entertainment (LBE) venue at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.
CoComelon Playdate will be a family-friendly experience; a children’s museum combined with a play zone. It will be the first family entertainment centre (FEC) in North America dedicated to the children’s show.
The FEC will bring to life CoComelon‘s iconic locations, characters and music, with visitors experiencing JJ’s treehouse, the Melon Patch Academy, Old MacDonald’s farm, and the yellow school bus.
In addition to these immersive spaces, CoComelon Playdate will offer a retail outlet selling exclusive CoComelon products, and an F&B area.
New FEC to open this winter
The new attraction is a partnership between Moonbug Entertainment, a British children’s media company, and Black Sky Creative, a production company and creative agency.
“Millions of kids around the world fall in love with CoComelon because of its colorful world, relatable characters, and joyful music,” said Susan Vargo, head of experiences at Moonbug.
“Finding new ways for families to interact with CoComelon in the real world helps us deepen the show’s connection with fans.”
Jeff Delson, CEO of Black Sky Creative, added: “In our quest to shape the future of children’s entertainment, CoComelon emerged as the perfect IP.
Play in CoComelon‘s themed spaces
“It can be difficult to find repeatable, educational and fun experiences that are enjoyable for both children and their parents.
“With CoComelon Playdate, we’re solving this challenge by creating a safe and approachable destination for families, where children can step inside the world of their favorite show to explore, interact, and play in CoComelon‘s iconic themed environments.”
Mall of America is North America’s largest shopping and entertainment complex. It houses attractions including a Sea Life aquarium, the FlyOver America ride, and the Crayola Experience.
The inaugural location of CoComelon Playdate will open at Mall of America this winter.
