Disney has shared a first look at the design concept for Disney Cruise Line‘s latest ship, the Disney Wish, set to launch in summer 2022.

The Disney Wish is the latest ship for Disney Cruise Line, set to sail from summer 2022. It is the first of three new ships joining the fleet through 2025.

The design concept for the Disney Wish is inspired by enchantment, with Walt Disney Imagineers embedding storytelling throughout the cruise experience.

The ship has a magical new look, based on stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. It continues the Disney Cruise Line tradition of an elegant exterior in the symbolic colours of Mickey Mouse.

The Disney Wish will feature Captain Minnie Mouse on the bow for the first time, as well as Tangled‘s Rapunzel and Pascal on the stern.

The ship’s grand hall is an elegant space with a fairytale castle-inspired design and trails of pixie dust climbing three-storey columns. The chandelier is a swirling spiral of crystal gems crowned with a wishing star.

At the base of the grand hall’s staircase, Cinderella will feature in the form of a bronze statue, surrounded by glistening railings, embellished carpeting and intricate metalwork.

The grand hall will serve as an enchanted gateway to the Disney Wish’s offerings, which range from fairytale worlds and heroic challenges to exciting adventures and galactic showdowns.

Disney Cruise Line’s new ship unveiled

The Disney Wish will be revealed during a virtual event called ‘Once Upon a Disney Wish’ on April 29, showcasing the ship’s spaces and experiences.

The Disney Wish is set to launch in summer 2022. Ahead of this, the Disney Parks Blog has created a special section dedicated to the new attraction.

Disney is adding new solar facilities to Walt Disney World, while Disney Cruise Line is set to bring online 4,320 solar panels at Castaway Cay, a private island in the Bahamas.
