IAAPA Expo Tradeshow

More than 65 new rides to be announced as the largest annual gathering for the global theme park and attractions business, the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017, opens in Orlando.

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017 is now underway at the Orange County Convention Center in Florida.  The showcase for new rides, immersive attractions, VR experiences, emerging technology, and fun food runs through until November 17th.  Presented by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the Expo is open to the industry and media but closed to the public.

It is the largest annual gathering for the industry, bringing together every facet of the global theme park and attractions business. Visitors come from all over the world to discover new trends and make investment decisions.

A virtual midway contains more than nine miles of aisles.  Attendees will hear announcements of new rides and attractions opening at parks in the coming year.  More than 65 new rides are set to be disclosed on the tradeshow floor.

Iconic parks such as Silver Dollar City, Six Flags Over Georgia, and SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment will share news.  A host of amusement ride manufacturers, including Intamin, Mack Rides, Rocky Mountain Construction, Skyline and S&S Worldwide, also have exciting announcements to make.

Mexico’s Amikoo Resort destination theme park, which is scheduled to open next year, will share updates.

Over 1,000 companies are exhibiting at the Expo.  They will be showcasing the future of roller coaster design and dark ride development alongside new water slides and immersive experiences.  Food and beverage news isn’t forgotten. Nor is theming and design, and ticketing technology.

Hot new products and services include a VR experience from LAI Games and Racket Studios’ new video karaoke booth. Aquaticar™ Experience by Cloward H2O is a widely anticipated underwater driving adventure.  Dator Inc.’s cutting edge ticketing software system is also generating a buzz.

The Expo represents 32,000 professionals from 100 nations.  They are all linked by their passion for the attractions industry and the desire to build relationships, test new innovations, and learn best practices.

Over 100 education experiences are on offer.  These include behind-the-scenes EDUTours of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Fun Spot America, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Volcano Bay.

A range of keynote presentations and panel discussions will be given by industry veterans.  These include Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainments; Jane Cooper, CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment; and Bob White, COO of Australia’s Village Roadshow theme parks.  The popular Game Changer session will feature former Disney executive Duncan Wardle speaking about creating a culture of innovation.

IAAPA honours the industry’s best-of-the-best during the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards. These spotlight excellence and creativity in entertainment, merchandise, marketing, food and beverage, and human resources.

Come and see Blooloop at Booth #2974.
