Rainbow Productions, a leading character events company and mascot manufacturer, already has a strong presence in the Middle East, specifically in the key Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market, which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Now, the firm is building on this by exhibiting at leading trade shows in the region.
The team connected with clients, made new contacts and revealed Rainbow Production’s very own mascot at this year’s Dubai Entertainment Amusement and Leisure (DEAL) exhibition, which took place from 14-16 March. Next, the firm will attend the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement (SEA) Expo in May 2023.
Successful visit to DEAL
DEAL is a major fixture in the attractions industry calendar for the Middle East, one which has grown rapidly over the last three decades. This year’s event was the largest yet, with industry professionals attending from across the Middle East, as well as the US, the Mediterranean, Africa and Asia.
The company has been exhibiting at the show in Dubai since 2007 and has ties with a number of leading operators in the region. For example, LEGOLAND Dubai Resort, Snow Oman, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Global Village Dubai, Al Hokair, MOTIONGATE Dubai and Yas Waterworld.
DEAL is an opportunity to reconnect with these partners and also to make new leads in a market where the entertainment sector is expanding fast.
Building on this success, the team will now continue to target Saudi Arabia as part of its expansion in the region. Rainbow Productions is heading to SEA as part of the Experience UK delegation, the trade body for the UK experience sector. SEA 2023 takes place from 28 – 30 May at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Meet Ruby
After 40 years in the industry, Rainbow Productions unveiled its own mascot at DEAL 2023. The mascot, named Ruby in celebration of the firm’s anniversary, is a rainbow-haired bear that was created to highlight its mascot manufacturing talents, with quality fabrics and 3D printed props.
Simon Foulkes, managing director of Rainbow Productions, says: “We expected to be kept busy at the biggest DEAL to date – and we were right. This year’s DEAL confirmed not only the region’s growing appetite for costume character mascots but our own strength in this key market.
“We are now actively targeting Saudi Arabia with a view to increasing our market presence in the GCC, where innovation, quality and sustainability will, as ever, be at the heart of every project we undertake.”
Earlier this year, Rainbow Productions confirmed the appointment of two new directors who will oversee sales, marketing and licensing.
