New studio tour is home to magical sets and the world’s largest Harry Potter shop

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo, Japan’s new Harry Potter attraction, has opened to visitors with a ceremony attended by Draco Malfoy star Tom Felton.

Built on the grounds of Toshimaen amusement park, the new studio tour follows in the footsteps of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, which opened in 2012.

The Tokyo venue is home to magical sets, immersive experiences and the world’s largest Harry Potter shop. Additionally, visitors can drink Butterbeer, ride a broom, and join the crowd at a Quidditch game.

“The huge range of products available in the studio tour’s shop make it especially unique for Harry Potter fans, who will be excited to find exclusive items here not available anywhere else,” the Wizarding World said in a press release.

Many of the sets that feature in London have been recreated for Japan, including the Great Hall, the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley and Platform 9¾, which includes the Hogwarts Express.

“In addition to fantastic interactive features, multiple photo opportunities and the world’s largest Harry Potter shop, the studio tour will exclusively showcase a number of incredible film sets that are one of a kind,” said Torben Jensen, the studio tour’s vice president and general manager.

Harry Potter immersive experiences

Exclusive to the new studio tour is the Ministry of Magic set, which includes the ‘Magic is Might’ statue and features the ministry’s giant fireplaces – with special effects to create Floo powder.

In more magical news, Miral is opening a new Wizarding World land at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and Universal’s Epic Universe is likely to include a Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
