Efteling in the Netherlands has announced plans for the new Magicaluna show, as well as a new fairytale called the Fairytale Library.

Beginning with the show, Magicaluna is a 20-minute experience featuring surreal, dreamlike illusions and magical creatures.

It follows a teenage girl named Luna, whose bedroom is transformed into a "grand dream spectacle", Efteling said.

"Luna awakens and moves from one moment of amazement to the next. Toys that move as if alive, shadows that guide her path, and illusions that draw her into a world full of imagination," the theme park added.

Launching at the Efteling Theater from 3 April, Magicaluna is a collaboration between Efteling and producer Magus Utopia.

Magicaluna, a family show, will run three times a day through 8 November at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

As for Efteling's new fairytale, the area around the Chinese Nightingale in the Fairytale Forest is being reimagined, with the 32nd fairytale named the Fairytale Library.

The Fairytale Library will open in 2027. The Chinese Nightingale will close on 8 March and will return in a new form.

The current version of the Chinese Nightingale opened in 1999, but the building is no longer "in good condition", Efteling said in a blog post.

The park decided to repurpose the area, and bring the Chinese Nightingale back in "a beautiful and honourable way".

Last year, Efteling announced plans for a new themed area and attraction around its Raveleijn show, which will also be completely renewed.

The park is also opening a new family attraction this summer next to Baron 1898, a Bolliger & Mabillard dive coaster.
