A new immersive attraction exploring the hidden realms of the natural world, Exploria, is opening at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in Singapore next month.

Launching on 3 March, Exploria is a 10,000-square-metre indoor, nature-themed multimedia attraction where visitors will discover extraordinary environments and rare phenomena.

These include prehistoric eras with towering dinosaurs and extreme habitats like a monsoon storm, as well as microscopic ecosystems and the oceans' depths.

"With Exploria, we are opening a new dimension of nature at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve," said Bennett Neo, group CEO, Mandai Wildlife Group.

"Visitors step into immersive worlds where hidden systems of life come alive, from the tiniest insects to the forest canopy above.

"Through science-guided storytelling and interactive exploration, they witness the delicate balance of ecosystems and experience how everything in nature is connected.

"Exploria is a bold addition to our wildlife and nature destination, inviting everyone to explore, learn and connect with the natural world in ways they’ve never imagined."

Exploria is home to five immersive worlds, each providing unique experiences, as follows:

Realm of the Giants includes monumental installations and augmented reality (AR) windows, as well as a 360-degree standing theatre experience that surrounds guests in visuals, light, sound and motion.

Micro Worlds offers interactive glass orbs and projection domes, while Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers provides virtual expeditions and simulator rooms.

At Infinite Wonderland, guests will explore the biodiversity of rainforests and coral reefs via layered multi-sensory details, and World of Darkness uncovers the secrets of life without light in caves and the deep ocean.

Using RFID wristbands, guests can personalise their experience with a digital avatar, activate interactive installations, and earn species badges as they engage with responsive media features.

In addition, Exploria will offer a signature light and sound show called The Planet Awakens, and conservation messages will be spotlighted throughout the space.

GSM Project was appointed as the lead experiential designer for Exploria by Mandai Wildlife Group following an international competition held in 2018, during which its team developed the attraction's original concept.
