Hershey Super Sweet Adventure asks an unusual question of branded entertainment: how do you build an immersive story world around an IP that never came with one? Mostlocation-based IP adaptations begin with an existing narrative canon: characters, settings, plotlines, or familiar scenes that can be translated from screen physical space. Hershey brands offer something different. Their power lives less in canon than in feeling, rituals, sensory qualities, and personal associations consumers have built around them over generations. The innovation was treating those associations themselves as narrative material, proving a CPG brand doesn’t need preexisting characters or fictional canon to support meaningful immersive storytelling.

Rather than creating a product showcase or factory recreation, Original X Productions developed an entirely original mythology: the Sweet Seekers’ Workshop, a whimsical place where inventive tinkerers dedicate themselves to discovering and amplifying the qualities that make Hershey treats so beloved. Guests do not simply tour it; they become Sweet Seekers themselves. Each brand was distilled to an emotional core, then translated into story, environment, and play.

The distinctive twistiness of TWIZZLERS twists becomes kinetic, carefree movement in the Twistology Hub. The boldness of JOLLY RANCHER candies becomes multisensory experimentation in the Flavor Intensification Station, REESE’S peanut butter cups are represented through energetic, collaborative play in the Combination Station, and HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolate’s spirit of sharing shapes the Share Shop, a warmer, creativity-led environment centered on personal expression and generosity.

This framework lets several distinct consumer brands coexist within one cohesive fictional universe without sacrificing what makes each one unique.

That translation extends through every layer of the physical experience. Immersive scenic environments, graphic storytelling, original music, live Sweet Seeker characters, physical play, and guest-facing technology all make otherwise intangible brand qualities tangible and participatory. Technical systems include pneumatic launchers and ball-routing mechanisms, scent-based interactives, responsive lighting and sound effects, touchscreen mini-games, artwork scanning that brings guests’ creations into an animated environment, and an AR-enabled photo and personalization system that creates a custom HERSHEY’S chocolate bar wrapper.

Technology, however, is not the organizing idea. It is used selectively as one of many tools for embodying a brand truth.

This shifts the guest relationship from consumer to participant. Throughout the experience, guests interact with characters, collect evidence of their discoveries, taste the products that inspired each world, and ultimately create a personalized HERSHEY’S milk chocolate bar wrapper. The brand is no longer simply something they recognize or purchase; for the duration of the experience, it becomes a world they can inhabit and influence.

Guests experience twistiness by twisting, intensity by intensifying, combination by combining, and sharing by choosing something to share. Brand attributes become actions.
