Tom Scalabre Partner and Chief Innovation Officer SUPERBIEN

Tom Scalabre is a partner and the chief innovation officer of SUPERBIEN, a creative studio developing a range of art and commissioned projects for brands and organisations around the world. The firm’s goal is to create shared spaces celebrating unique moments to combine the digital and physical worlds.

With a focus on interactive installations and visual content, SUPERBIEN is an expert in immersive exhibitions, live performances, video mapping, animated 2D/3D films, imaginative anamorphic billboards, AV/VR/XR, and online experiences, in addition to cutting-edge permanent installations and retail.

The studio was established in 2009, and its distinctive projects typically appreciate cultural forms, practises, and beliefs. The crew works to evolve narratives from the past, present, and future with originality and integrity and uses modern technologies, such as virtual reality and augmented reality, to shape and define experiences, replacing traditional encounters and making enduring memories.

Examples of projects SUPERBIEN has worked on include SIDEREA at the Immersive Art Festival; Oceans – an immersive aquarium; video mapping on the Empire State Building for Netflix; and Monaco’s Immersion Oceano latest exhibition. In 2023, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, SUPERBIEN joined forces with Mass Appeal and the Hall des Lumières to create HIP HOP TIL INFINITY, the first multimedia immersive exhibition on the history of the genre.

At its head office in Paris, SUPERBIEN displays its inventive and entertaining technology, which has resulted in the creation of SUPERLAB. SUPERLAB invites musicians and creatives to experiment with cutting-edge technology and push the boundaries of their creativity.

Scalabre says he is always on the lookout for what’s next and what’s going to make sense in our new hybrid world. His goal is to create spaces that merge digital into physical and bridge the gap between opposites such as the informative and emotive, the intimate and spectacular, and the technological and human.
