Disney Cruise Line reveals new ship class and Disney Believe details
Disney Cruise Line has announced a new class of ships to debut in 2029, and shared a first look at its new Wish class ship – the Disney Believe.
Revealed during Disney's D23 fan event, Disney Cruise Line will launch three new ships in the new class, positioned in size between its classic ships and its newer vessels.
Claire Weiss, senior creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, said the new ships are "right in the middle of our classic ships and our newer ones".
"That gives us some amazing opportunities to visit new places and reach brand new audiences we haven’t before," she added.
Announced at last year's D23, Disney Cruise Line is expanding its fleet to 13 ships over the coming years.
Currently, the company sails eight ships across the world – the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure.
The Disney Believe, setting sail in 2027, will be the fourth ship in the Wish class and the ninth in Disney's fleet.
As well as announcing a new class of cruise ships, Disney has shared a first look at plans for the Disney Believe's grand hall and exterior artwork.

Like its sister ships, the Disney Believe's grand hall will serve as a central gathering space for guests and will be themed to Disney Animation's Moana films.
The ship's exterior hull will feature Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story films, and the bow will be decorated with a filigree of Tinker Bell from Walt Disney Animation Studios 1953 classic Peter Pan.
“This ship celebrates belief in magic, family, the power of nature, and belief in yourself,” said Weiss.
"And all the stories we tell onboard will be tied together by the core Disney notion of believing in something fantastical.”
