Moment Factory,

Developed by Moment Factory in creative direction and technical design collaboration with Futuroscope Xperiences, La Serre des Mondes is a multisensory, interactive walkthrough attraction located at Futuroscope in Poitiers, France. Opening in February 2026, the project transforms a challenging legacy 360-degree projection building into a dynamic, multi-room narrative experience. This attraction reimagines traditional theme park offerings by replacing passive viewing with an ambulatory, gamified activities that accommodates 60 to 80 visitors per cycle. Spanning a 16.5-minute journey across four distinct spaces lasting approximately 4 minutes and 45 seconds each, guests step directly into the workshop and world of an eccentric botanist to explore extraordinary plant life, evolving from passive observers into active participants on a collective mission.

Entering the first space, The Botanist’s Atelier, visitors gather around a central interactive table utilizing Pepper’s Ghost optical illusion effects to transform plant life. This workshop environment is further enriched by a backlit wall displaying 300 stabilized plant cuttings paired with dynamic lighting and an 'Odorama' scent system that introduces unique botanical fragrances. Moving into the second room, La Serre, guests step into a fully projection-mapped greenhouse containing two large central plant structures. Here, visitors actively channel energy into the room by tapping on real physical drums to make digital flora bloom, until an electrical glitch sequence suddenly transforms the plants and prompts a narrative transition to a safe room.

Transitioning into the third space, *Le Sas* visitors enter a non-interactive airlock styled with research posters and monochromatic RGB lighting that explains the scientific process behind the botanist's work. In this narrative bridge, the botanist expresses concern following the glitch and reveals his key discovery of phonosynthesis—the concept that plants respond directly to sound waves. This sets up the dramatic climax in the fourth room, *Le Spécimen*, which is anchored by a monumental central tree structure. Surrounding the tree, guests play 18 interactive real drums in unison, acting as a collective pacemaker that re-energizes the flora through synchronised projection mapping, lasers, dynamic colorimetry, spatial audio, and lighting, concluding in a final show where the botanist thanks guests for saving his collection.

*La Serre des Mondes* delivers a major format innovation for theme park entertainment by introducing a free-flowing, multi-room walkthrough concept that diversifies existing park offerings and expands guest capacity. Instead of relying on conventional seated dark rides or passive media presentations, the project bridges narrative storytelling with escape room-style problem-solving mechanics, compelling visitors to work together to overcome an environmental crisis. Furthermore, the conceptual framework of phonosynthesis establishes a seamless connection between physical guest actions, such as drumming, and real-time environmental reactions powered by projection mapping and interactive media.

The project showcases a complete integration of creative and technical expertise. Moment Factory led the creative direction and technical design, overseeing narrative design, scenography, video content, projection mapping, lighting, interactivity, and audio design in partnership with installation partner FMD. The resulting hybrid experience combines physical scenography, including real plants, 300 stabilized cuttings, and a custom giant tree structure, with digital artworks, video mapping, and tactile interactive mechanics. By revitalizing legacy venue architecture at Futuroscope, La Serre des Mondes demonstrates how theme parks can transform existing spaces to elevate guest engagement and set a new standard for interactive narrative experiences.
