Legoland's resorts in Florida and California have set opening dates for the new Galacticoaster space-themed indoor roller coasters.

In Florida, the Galacticoaster launches on 27 February, while in California, the new attraction debuts on 6 March.

The Galacticoaster is set to be the most technologically advanced attraction ever created at Legoland Florida and Legoland California.

It is also the first indoor coaster to be built inside Legoland Florida since the theme park opened in 2011, and Legoland California's first new coaster in more than 20 years.

At Legoland California, the ride will be part of a new themed land, which includes two additional space-themed attractions, a toddler play area, and space-inspired F&B and retail outlets.

Combining storytelling, interactivity, and state-of-the-art ride technology, Galacticoaster will take families on a customisable Lego space adventure.

"Galacticoaster redefines what a family coaster can be. It’s not just about the thrills – it’s about giving every guest the power to create their own story," said Rob Smith, chief operating officer of Merlin.

"It’s Lego play, elevated to a whole new orbit. These investments reaffirm our commitment to the ongoing transformation of Legoland Parks in North America into world class destination resorts.

"I can’t wait to see these space-themed experiences come to life in Florida and California early next year.”

Legoland's new space-themed experiences represent Merlin Entertainments' largest ever single in-park investment across the two locations at £70 million.

“This £70m investment exemplifies our strategy to premiumise our existing portfolio, offering young families even more high-quality attractions, with the captivating storytelling and learning through play that Legoland Resorts are renowned for,” said Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin.
