Abdulaziz AlSulaim Acting CEO Qassim Science Centre

Abdulaziz AlSulaim is acting CEO of the Qassim Science Centre, a state-of-the-art facility in Saudi Arabia designed to enhance science learning in line with Vision 2030. Considered to be one of the kingdom’s pioneering science education projects, the facility is equipped with cutting-edge exhibits and interactive elements.

“The way we have developed Qassim Science Centre is with a focus on fun, engaging, entertaining science teaching. STEM ‘edutainment’ is, effectively, a kind of growing industry at the moment, and there is an increasing demand for it,” AlSulaim told blooloop.

“Qassim Science Centre is considered to be a pioneer project because it is the first of its kind in the region. It’s an honour to be a part of a project that is directly contributing towards the preparation of a new generation of STEM leaders, capable of global competitiveness in the knowledge-based and industrial economy.”

AlSulaim has dedicated the past 10 years of his career to enhancing Saudi’s entertainment and cultural sector. He is experienced in the fields of science centres, event production, STEAM activation, and museums and culture activations. His career in the industry started at Mishkat Science Centre in Riyadh. He served as a facilitator and programme developer.

After this, he joined Raz Group, where he helped to advance the events and entertainment sector in Saudi Arabia. In 2020, he became the general manager at Knowliom, which manages the Qassim Science Centre. The Riyadh-based agency provides informal learning experiences across the kingdom, offering museum operation solutions, edutainment, and learning and cultural programmes.

Knowliom works on projects ranging from art exhibitions and science museums to heritage and science festivals. “Knowliom is a museums operation company, which operates museums and science centres,” added AlSulaim. “We focused at the beginning on bringing in people from the region to host and staff the centre.”
