There’s nothing like starting young. Felix discovered his passion for multimedia technology at the tender age of eleven – because his dad organised events, and he went along to give a helping hand. Just three years later while still at high school, he was taking on jobs for a small equipment rental firm well beyond the boundaries of his home town of Meiningen in Thuringia. It was during this time that his passion was aroused for lighting – and for designing light shows.
That’s why, after graduating from high school, Felix went to Liverpool to study lighting design at the “Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts”. However, the course did not meet his expectations and so he headed out to Shenzhen in China, where he founded his first start-up selling LED screens and lighting equipment in Southeast Asia and to Europe – a time consuming adventure, as he says today. He followed this up by returning to Germany and working as a freelance technical planner and project manager on various corporate events, TV- productions and exhibitions.
In 2013, Felix joined Neumann&Müller in Munich and did an outstanding job working on large-scale projects, for example becoming the project project manager of the New Mobility World at the IAA in Frankfurt. Felix has a particular talent for pulling the strings in complex enterprises, therefore he was put in charge of five projects at the EXPO 2017 in Kazakhstan.
After delivering a very successful EXPO in Kazakhstan, in 2018 Felix relocated to Dubai where he became the director for Neumann&Müller´s newly founded business unit “System Integration”. Felix was entrusted to build a unit that would focus on designing & delivering large-scale and complex multimedia systems for museums, experience centres, exhibitions, and EXPO pavilions. With EXPO 2020 being only two years away, one of the strategic milestones on
Neumann&Müller regional growth plan was to become a major player at EXPO 2020. It would later turn out to be a much bigger success than it was ever anticipated.
In 2019 the development of the unit “System Integration” was well underway, and Felix was named Managing Director for Neumann&Müller´s Middle East business and was responsible for the strategic expansion of the business in the Middle East region across all business units. Felix is a relentless driver for future success and organizational growth. With teams reporting to him in Berlin, Munich and Dubai, Felix believes in the energy that international and multicultural teams bring to companies.
In 2022, Felix was presented with the opportunity to pursue a management buy-out of the two Neumann&Müller subsidiaries which he was managing. Together with his Co-Managing Director, the partners took over the full ownership of these subsidiaries and subsequently rebranded to BeWunder. The business has since then had double-digit yearly growth, opened new offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Tokyo and expanded its service portfolio to become a turnkey solution provider within its industry.
Although the 32-year-old is travelling a lot for business, travelling is still his hobby, because Felix loves getting to know and immersing himself in foreign cultures. In new cities, Felix will be the first to visit museums, places of cultural heritage and art districts. He enjoys various forms of contemporary and modern art. Since childhood, Felix has been interested architecture and his interest remains unchanged until. He especially likes the Art Nouveau period. In the evenings, Felix enjoys visiting classic opera and ballet if not watching a movie directed by Woody Allen or Wes Anderson. To physically fit,
