Sheikha Nawar Al Qasimi is a trailblazing figure at the Sharjah Art Foundation having worked there for over 10 years. During this time, she has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and commitment to artistic excellence.
Her imaginative vision has given the Sharjah Art Foundation’s projects a new angle and created a lively environment where creativity and cross-cultural exchange thrive. As a role model, she fosters a new generation of artists and curators who aren’t afraid to confront traditions and encourages women to break down obstacles.
Al Qasimi was awarded a degree in communications and advertising from the American University of Sharjah and began her career with the Sharjah Art Foundation in 2010 as an audience engagement specialist. Later, she oversaw the department that handled development for the organisation, which concentrated on business and cultural partnerships.
In her present position, she is in charge of the Foundation’s strategic planning as well as enhancing the organisation’s advocacy and catalyst role for the arts in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the surrounding area, and beyond.
She has been instrumental in advancing the Sharjah Art Foundation’s work and has supported the programming of many prominent exhibitions. She works with Sheikha Hoor Al-Qasimi and curators of a number of biennial editions to assist in realising their vision.
