Dr Amit Patel

Dr Amit Patel is a best-selling author, diversity, equity and inclusion consultant, motivational speaker, and disability rights campaigner, sitting on the Board of Trustees for two national charities. Patel has registered severely sight impaired (blind) since 2013.

Patel provides bespoke DEI training and advice across all sectors, helping businesses and brands to become more inclusive and accessible to all. He is also a broadcaster, presenter and media personality, appearing on various online and print media around the world.

Fully committed to achieving greater representation of disabled people across all areas of life, Patel strives to challenge himself and challenge other people’s perceptions of disability every day.

You have to have the conversation right at the beginning. If you think about it too late you forget about the foundations of inclusivity and accessibility. Have that conversation right from the beginning and it’s weaved in to your design.

Patrick O’Mahony

Patrick O’Mahony launched the NEWSUBSTANCE studio in 2004, leading the company’s creative and strategic development. With over twenty years of expertise realising large creative projects and installations, he works from concept to creative development, design through to execution, to guarantee the output and delivery are true to the original creative vision.

Patrick leads the creative team and ensures that the design concepts produced by his team are deliverable with no creative compromise. His work includes Spectra, a large-scale art installation at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, as well as creative design and development for Expo 2020 Dubai‘s opening ceremony. Patrick is also one of the founding partners of SKYMAGIC, a rapidly growing and world-leading drone light show studio.

Ollie Howitt NEWSUBSTANCE
Ollie Howitt

Ollie Howitt joined the NEWUBSTANCE team in 2018 after studying Film, Photography, and Media. She works closely on ideation, conceptualisation, creative development, and live delivery of projects.

Howitt has worked on several standout projects including SEE MONSTER, the UK’s largest public art project in 2022, where Howitt crafted the creative narrative for the entire project and worked closely with the firm’s accessibility consultant to ensure the structure and experience were accessible in its integrity. Howitt also oversaw the art department for Riot Games’ League of Legends World Championship Finals 2021 Opening Ceremony and worked onsite for the UAE’s 47th and 49th National Day Ceremonies.

Paul Crick

Paul Crick, who has fifteen years of expertise in the creative sectors, is in charge of NEWSUBSTANCE’s global expansion, business development, and marketing. He cultivates critical relationships with customers and colleagues, recognising chances for furthering the studio’s global strategic growth. Ceremonies, special events, music, sports, and brand commissions are among the projects in the Arts and Entertainment industry.

Crick, a former media and entertainment lawyer, has worked with creative firms and artists, as well as TV, film, and media companies.
