Knowliom, an expert in creating immersive cultural experiences that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia, has announced a new partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla.
In this major development, which is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the company takes responsibility for overseeing the ongoing development and management of visitor centres located near AlUla, Tayma, and Khaybar.
These centres serve as entry points for exploration and a window into the remarkable natural and cultural heritage of the region.
Beyond tourism
Located on the ancient incense trade and pilgrimage route to Makkah, AlUla is a thriving travel destination that attracts visitors from all over the world to northwest Saudi Arabia.
It is renowned for its cultural offerings, including Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage site. These attractions are combined with brand-new facilities and attractions, outdoor activities, and contemporary culture, in a transformation which offers visitors an unforgettable experience.
The visitor centres aim to make booking tickets, hotels, cars, and experiences easier. In addition, they will enhance cultural offerings by presenting the wonders of AlUla through immersive experiences that connect travellers with the region’s rich traditions, culture, and destinations.
Aside from logistical convenience, the visitor centres have the potential to promote cultural tourism, which will benefit the local economy. They serve as one-of-a-kind platforms for visitors to learn about different cultures, and thus play an important role in regional economic growth.
The initiative’s primary goal is to safeguard and connect visitors to AlUla’s natural, cultural, and historic heritage. These ties go beyond tourism, promoting a better understanding of the critical importance of heritage preservation and improving the well-being of communities and regions.
