AKA is showcasing its English conversational artificial intelligence (AI) robot ‘Musio’ at the V&A Dundee’s current exhibition, ‘Hello, Robot. Design Between Human and Machine’.

The exhibition explores our relationships with robotics, also looking at the history of robots and the roles bots play in various industries.

In addition, it investigates the relationship between humans and robots and the impact that they have on our lives.

It highlights more than 200 different forms of robots, including those used in design, art, homes, nursing care, computer games, media installations, movies and literature.

According to Raymond Jung, CEO of AKA, the exhibition will introduce Musio to Europe. AKA will also take Musio to China and Korea in 2020.

Musio, a reliable English language learning robot who can communicate in conversational English, has been used in English learning classes at more than 100 schools and academies in Japan.

Musio’s chat mode allows natural English conversational practices, while a tutor mode lets users learn English according to level and purpose using teaching materials.

Edu mode can be used for more systematic English study, including vocabulary, phrases and sentences, with role-play and pronunciation check abilities.

Also in its first year, V&A Dundee is estimated to have an economic impact of £23 million across Scotland, supporting 604 full-time equivalent jobs.

As for the V&A in London, its landmark exhibition for 2020 is Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser. The otherworldly experience will feature immersive environments, secret doors and theatrical sets.

‘Hello, Robot. Design Between Human and Machine’ is running until February 9, 2020 at V&A Dundee.
