Historical site transformed at night with thousands of lights

T3, a creative agency specialising in the creation, design and production of customer experiences, has returned to a historical attraction in Warwickshire, UK, with a show it has designed, produced and is operating on behalf of Merlin Entertainments.

The company has brought its Christmas light trail back to Warwick Castle, with the focus and theme of festive traditions. T3 Creative Agency planned to create a positive, uplifting feel whilst delivering subtle nods to the history of the 11th-century castle throughout the nighttime experience. Lasting approximately forty-five minutes, fifteen different zones have been created which are accompanied by a bespoke soundtrack written specifically for the event.

The Warwick Castle Light Trail has been modified for the 2021 Christmas season, with a new mile-long route around the castle grounds requiring in excess of 40,000 dazzling lights. The light trail has been carefully designed to make the most of the surrounding landscape, showcasing significant trees and medieval architecture.

Visitors will even be granted access to restricted areas normally inaccessible to guests.

Whilst being the concept designer and producer, T3 is also directly operating the attraction. Throughout the trail are catering units so guests can purchase festive treats including mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Brightening up children’s lives

T3 Creative Agency has also installed a special “private light activation” to support the Merlin’s Magic Wand charity. Represented by a giant wand, guests have the chance to give an optional donation at the culmination of the trail.

Merlin’s Magic Wand is an international children’s charity, which has provided experiences for families for over a decade. The organisation works with local hospices and charities to provide long-lasting memories by providing free attraction tickets, and both designing and creating themed kid-friendly projects in hospitals, orphanages and learning centres around the world.

David Harding, T3 Creative Agency managing director says “We are thrilled to have been able to bring the Xmas Light Trail back to Warwick Castle. Due to the success of last year, we have been able to add more light shows along the new route. Working with Warwick Castle, we have opened more food and beverage [outlets] to extend the experience and helped raise money for Merlin’s Magic Wand.”

The light trail is running at Warwick Castle until 3 January 2022.

T3 has previously worked with Warwick Castle and Magic Light Pictures to design and produce “Zog and The Quest for the Golden Star”, an interactive trail based on the popular children’s book by author Julia Donaldson.
