Dollywood has paid tribute to Dolly Parton following the news of the country music legend's death at 80.
Parton's death was announced on Tuesday, 25 August, via an Instagram video on her official account, with her nephew Bryan Seaver delivering the news.
A follow-up post confirmed that the beloved singer had "died peacefully" in Nashville, Tennessee, and that "a small, private service" will be held for Dolly's immediate family.

Following the news, Dollywood, the theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which Parton co-owns with Herschend Family Entertainment, issued a statement honouring the star and reassuring guests that the park would remain open.
The statement reads: "With heavy hearts, the Dollywood family mourns the passing of our beloved Dreamer-in-Chief, Dolly Parton. Everyone at Dollywood shares the sorrow of countless people around the world touched by Dolly's warmth, wisdom and generous spirit.
"Dolly's heartfelt wish was that Dollywood always remain a place of joy, hope and togetherness—a space where families and friends could honour her memory, not with silence, but with laughter, music and shared dreams."
In the statement, Dollywood said that Parton's "legacy extends beyond her music and generosity", noting her "work ethic".
It concludes: "In her spirit, Dollywood will be open Wednesday as Dolly wanted, always reminding everyone with her signature sparkle- 'the show must go on.' Together, we honour her by carrying forward her message of love, perseverance, and hope."
Eugene Naughton, president of Dollywood Parks & Resorts, said: "The greatest privilege of my life has been helping Dolly bring her dreams to life at Dollywood.
"Dolly's heart was as vast as the mountains she cherished, and her compassion knew no bounds. She inspired generations to dream boldly and love deeply.
"While we grieve her loss, we are honoured and committed to carry her light forward. Her legacy will continue to shine in every melody sung, every smile shared and every dream kindled within these gates."

Earlier this month, Parton was due to attend the launch but instead appeared in a prerecorded video after her doctor advised her not to travel.
“I get a little dizzy and I get dehydrated,” she said, adding that her doctor had “clipped my wings” and prevented her from travelling that week.
