Gröna Lund, Sweden's oldest amusement park, has unveiled the new 'Score!' dark ride for 2027.

Designed as a shared, family-friendly attraction, the SEK 205 million ($19m) dark ride will offer an interactive gaming experience.

It features trackless ride vehicles navigated by advanced radar-based positioning technology, which can spin, change direction and move seamlessly through the various themed environments.

Guests will travel through the park's "legendary subterranean archive", filled with "strange artifacts, forgotten inventions, old amusement rides, and 140 years of park history memories", Gröna Lund said.

In the archive's magical chambers, riders will use laser blasters to hit targets, collect points and compete for a high score.

"The combination of a radar-based trackless ride system, a magical immersive environment, and the fact that guests become part of the game creates an experience unlike anything else," said Jakob Fagerström, creative director at Gröna Lund and Parks and Resorts.

"I’m proud to say that with Score!, we are creating something truly unique within the attractions industry."

Jan Eriksson, CEO of Gröna Lund, said the new ride "blends speed, action, ride thrills, and gameplay in an entirely new way and will bring out everyone’s competitive spirit".

As an indoor attraction, "it's incredibly exciting to offer our guests an experience that works just as well on a warm summer day as it does during a winter conference or corporate event", he added.

The manufacturer of Score! is set to be announced at IAAPA Expo Europe 2026, which takes place in London in September.
