Norxe to showcase dvLED technology at IAAPA Expo & I/ITSEC 2026

The direct-view LED platform marks the company’s expansion from specialist projector manufacturer to broader display technology provider

Norxe, a Norwegian manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, is expanding beyond specialist projector manufacturing into broader display technologies with its inaugural direct-view LED (dvLED) display technology.

Presented at IAAPA Expo 2026 and I/ITSEC 2026, both at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, the new platform will launch with physical demonstrations that give clients and collaborators early insight into the technology, as well as the opportunity to provide feedback to support its ongoing development.

The company will also introduce its new tagline, 'Displaying new standards', at these events.

Espen Olsen, vice president of global sales at Norxe, says: "Norxe has always focused on the complete image and what is required to produce it reliably in a demanding application.

"Projection remains a major part of what we do, but it is the performance of the display that ultimately matters. Direct-view LED allows us to apply our experience in high frame rates, low latency, night vision, colour management and system reliability to another display technology.

"This is deliberately an early preview. We want customers and partners to see the direction we are taking and bring their feedback directly into the engineering process."

Attendees at IAAPA Expo 2026 can find Norxe at booth #S207 from 16 to 20 November. The company will be at booths #1815 and #1915 at I/ITSEC 2026 from 30 November to 4 December.

From simulation to attractions

With R&D, engineering and manufacturing based in Norway, Norxe is bringing the same principles behind its simulation projectors to a broader range of display technologies.

The dvLED platform supports frame rates up to 240Hz, low latency, ST 2110 IP video, and redundancy for power and video. ST 2110 enables video transport over standard network infrastructure, reducing cabling and related equipment required for an installation.

The display is based on the company's Unify electronics and API platform, a technology foundation it shares with other Norxe products.

Supported by the pre-installation tool Unify Display Manager, it will enable integrators to design LED walls and plan the required controllers, cabling and associated components.

The platform will be available in pixel pitches of 0.7mm, 0.9mm, 1.2mm and 1.5mm. It supports Night Vision Goggle training with dedicated infrared diodes, as well as continuous time-of-day simulation with precise dimming control. Additionally, the system will be TAA compliant.

Although simulation remains its central focus, Norxe sees clear parallels to visitor attractions.

Dark rides and immersive experiences share many of the same requirements, including accurate colour, convincing motion, deep black levels and reliable operation. With the new platform, attraction designers have a new way to bring Norxe display fidelity to applications where projection may not be the best option.

"High-performance attractions demand a lot from a display," says Olsen.

"The P20 4K 3DS has proven to be a perfect match for the dark ride upgrade and replacement market. We are not aware of another display product that combines high resolution, high refresh rates, a wide color gamut, motion compatibility, long lifetime, long service intervals and with a small footprint.

"At the same time, we recognize a trend where new attractions are looking to install direct-view LED rather than projection.

"The new Norxe dvLED platform brings the same priorities to direct-view LED as we have for projection, with strict demands for image quality, frame rates up to 240 Hz, redundant power and video paths, and the same electronics and API as Norxe projectors.

"It also gives designers another option for bright spaces, tight scenes with no room for throw distance, or challenges with shadowing.”

Norxe at I/ITSEC

Norxe will showcase its P55 and P60 projector platforms across numerous simulation configurations at I/ITSEC 2026, booths #1815 and #1915.

A P60 8K n-shift IR will operate at 240Hz with the FlightSafety VITAL image generator. Additionally, a P60 4K IR will demonstrate native 4K at 240Hz with Nucleus, with a further Nucleus-powered demonstration featuring the P55 8K n-shift IR running at 6K n-shift and 120Hz.

The company's projectors will also power three partner installations, including a three-channel P60 4K IR system presented by Electric Picture Display Systems and Scalable Display Technologies on booth #1201.

At booth #1821, Q4 Services will power a front-projected spherical display using seven P60 8K n-shift IR projectors operating at 6K n-shift, while at booth #719, Perception’s DRACO dome will include seven P55 8K n-shift IR projectors across six main display channels and a dedicated HUD channel.

This group of installations will show how Norxe projectors work with varied image generators, frame rates, resolutions and display geometries.

Last month, Norxe shared details of its partnership with project: syntropy to power two immersive visual display systems for Pilatus Aircraft’s PC-7 MKX Flight Training Devices (FTDs).
