Parc Astérix in France has announced a €250 million, three-year investment plan, which includes new themed areas, attractions and a hotel.

As part of the park's new project, it will introduce the new Londinium zone in 2028, an indoor area inspired by the Astérix in Britain comic book.

This will feature a major roller coaster, an interactive dark ride, a vertical playground, a pub, and retail outlets.

Additionally, Parc Astérix is expanding its hotel portfolio with the Odyssée Hotel, a 300-room property to open in 2027.

This is based on Astérix and Obelix's travels in Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Phoenicia.

As for Parc Astérix's existing attractions, Oxygénarium in the Egypt area will be rethemed and updated next year to become the Descent of the Nile.

New and updated attractions at Parc Astérix

The park's Les Chaises Volantes attraction will become the Flight of Ibis, while the Le Cirque Restaurant will be reimagined as Le Comptoir d'Epidemaïs.

In 2027, Parc Astérix will open a renovated Greek zone.

The new investment plan will expand capacity at the park by 20 percent, and will bring Parc Astérix's total hotel rooms to 750.

Earlier this year, Parc Astérix opened the new Cétautomatix attraction, billed as Europe's first spinning, kinetic-powered family roller coaster.

In 2023, Parc Astérix debuted its largest ever expansion with a €36m themed area named Festival Toutatis, anchored by an Intamin multi LSM launch coaster.

Owned and operated by Compagnie des Alpes, Parc Astérix is home to 50 attractions and shows across six lands themed to the Roman Empire, the Vikings, Egypt, and more.
