Suniland Extreme Park in Caracas, Venezuela, includes a 400-square-metre Clip ‘n Climb arena

Clip ‘n Climb, an international leader in the fun climbing market, is celebrating the official opening of the largest Clip ‘n Climb centre in South America, and one of the biggest in the whole of America. The newly operational Suniland Extreme Park in Caracas, Venezuela, is home to a 400 square metre Clip ‘n Climb arena.

After opening four previous experience parks across Venezuela, this is the first time that Suniland has opted to include Clip ‘n Climb attractions. Guests can enjoy 19 challenges altogether, including the firm’s popular leap of faith and stairway to heaven challenges.

Speaking about the choice to open the biggest Clip ‘n Climb centre in South America, operator Omar El Sous says:

“Firstly, it’s something different from everything else! I already had an indoor playground at the location and remaining space was not very generous, so the first thing that came to mind was Clip ‘n Climb, with the vertical concept you can take advantage of a small footprint.

“Secondly, Clip ‘n Climb is special. It’s something for children and parents, and it’s rare for someone to not like the concept. Finally, what was a boom until recently is now in decline, I’m talking about trampoline parks. I see children and teenagers getting bored of trampolining, it’s destined to be forgotten.”

Ahead of the opening, local media and influencers received invitations, and nearly 300 stories were created online in relation to the park and its launch day. These have also seen good levels of engagement, with over 10,000 shares.

As a result, visitor numbers are good: a total of 1350 climbers have been through the doors over the first 16 days of operation, which is an average of 84 climbers each day. Plus, the centre received 1740 enquires in the first week, 30% of which were about birthday parties.

Talking about the opening day, El Sous adds:

“Visitors were very enthusiastic, and it was so good to see a lot of adrenaline and a great vibe from the whole team, encouraging and motivating the climbers. The vertical drop, leap of faith and stairway to heaven were all really popular, making everyone who took part laugh! I think these should be mandatory attractions at Clip ’n Climb centres!”

Firm will continue to provide support

Because of the centre’s large footprint, the team was able to add a 174m² EP Climbing area with Mozaik XP walls and the world’s smartest Auto Belay, TRUBLUE iQ. This means that guests can transition from the fun Clip ‘n Climb Challenges to a professional climbing wall, enabling the park to appeal to a wider audience.

Weather-resilient Mozaik XP walls are traditionally used outdoors, and this installation was initially going to be on a covered terrace. However, the design changed during the project and the area has now been fully enclosed, so that the weather does not affect visitor numbers.

The Clip ‘n Climb team says it will continue to support El Sous and his team with regular maintenance of the challenges and walls, route setting and changing the holds.

Last year, Clip ‘n Climb signed a license agreement with Saudi Entertainment Ventures Company (SEVEN). It will build and operate attractions across several upcoming entertainment destinations by SEVEN in Saudi Arabia.
