Holovis, a leading experience designer, has revealed that it will showcase its state-of-the-art 360Golf product at IAAPA Europe Expo.
IAAPA Expo Europe is the biggest trade show for the themed entertainment industry in the EMEA region. The 2024 event will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands from 23 to 27 September, and the show floor is open from 24 to 26 September.
Holovis is exhibiting at booth #8729, and delegates can meet the firm’s head of creative Dean Wright, and marketing manager Ben Fry, together with Matt Dobbs, head of business development for 360Golf. Meetings can be booked through Calendly or by email.
Advanced mini-golf technology
Holovis is renowned for large-scale themed entertainment, including the Lego Factory Adventure Ride at Legoland New York and the record-breaking “One Ocean” LED screen at SeaWorld Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Its most recent accomplishment, 360Golf, marks the firm’s growth into the family entertainment and social gaming spaces.
360Golf is revolutionising mini-golf by integrating advanced tracking and stroke-counting technology directly into the golf balls.
Players can register their teams at self-service kiosks and are given golf balls assigned to each participant. Once on the course, sensors identify who is playing, and intelligent ball technology automatically tracks each player’s strokes. The course design includes “SuperShot” bonuses, penalties, and other challenges that add excitement. These are automatically tracked and scored by the proprietary technology, with the results shown on screens throughout.
The 360Golf experience has already been enjoyed by thousands of visitors worldwide, with installations at two Level X venues in Glasgow and Middlesbrough, UK, as well as on Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ships.
Holovis’ DeepSmarts data analytics solution is used to continuously monitor every site. Operators can view vital information on the system’s dashboard, including the number of players, game durations, high scores, course usage, and even maintenance alerts and equipment health.
In addition, Holovis is getting ready to unveil two of its biggest courses to date as part of an 11-installation series that will open later this year at an undisclosed location. The company says that these new designs will provide an unprecedented degree of ambition and scale in the mini-golf industry.
Earlier this year, Holovis shared its insights into why LED is a key technology for attractions. The firm recommends LED for large media attractions as the technology becomes increasingly affordable.
