Innovative Leisure creates high-energy activities for Hemsby Beach Holiday Park

News
Innovative Leisure Richardsons Leisure partnership

Innovative Leisure, a leading supplier of adventure attractions, has collaborated with Richardsons Leisure to add two new activities at Hemsby Beach Holiday Park in Norfolk, UK.

The firm has created a pirate-themed Water Wars game and unique Coconut Tree Climb for the family-focused park on the Norfolk coast. The park boasts a wide range of exciting activities for guests of all ages and skill levels.

Energetic, engaging activities

The pirate-themed Water Wars game invites guests of all ages to take part in an interactive water balloon battle. The family-friendly wet-play attraction arms players with Water Wars catapults and water balloons, which they fire at each other from opposing battle stations. A target on top of each battle station triggers the ‘Depth Charge’, a torrent of water which drenches the players below. The activity has proven popular with guests as it offers a refreshing break from digital devices.

In addition, the one-of-a-kind Coconut Tree Climb provides a significantly different climbing experience than a typical climbing tower. Guests can shimmy to the top by holding on to the authentically themed artificial bark, or use strategically placed handholds to help them in their climb.

The new features complement Hemsby Beach’s current attractions, which include Innovative Leisure’s Sky Trail high ropes and Sky Tykes low ropes courses, in addition to a 7.3-metre four-person auto belay climbing tower and a low-level Timer Traversing Wall. This range of activities combines to offer an exciting location for high-energy holidays in the United Kingdom.

Justin Ettridge, park and customer experience manager, says: “We have had the pleasure of working with Keith and the team at Innovative Leisure since 2017.

“Over the past 7 years, a great working relationship with the team has been built, so much so that they have been a key part in the development journey at the Holiday Park, bringing exciting and quality attractions to wow our guests.

“From delivering new ideas, to the management of safety and training, the service and customer care has been great with the Innovative Leisure team, at every level.”

Richardsons chief executive Greg Munford, speaking to Eastern Daily Press, said: “Nowadays you do have to try harder to appeal to young people because you’re competing with screens, and that’s why you need to offer exciting and interactive experiences that they really want to engage with.”

Last year, Innovative Leisure announced that its strategic partnership with Haven Holiday Parks has been extended. The collaboration has resulted in the launch of three new attractions and a new service contract. Since spring 2019, over 25 Innovative Leisure attractions have been installed in the Haven estate’s parks.
