wonky bridge element high ropes course national water centre

Innovative Leisure, a leading supplier of adventure attractions, has helped the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham, UK, to upgrade its popular Sky Trail high ropes course, which was first installed at the site nine years ago. The high ropes course provides an exciting and varied experience for both new and returning guests at the centre.

RCI Adventure Products, the manufacturer of Sky Trails, is constantly working to develop its offering and come up with new adventure elements, in order to help operators keep their Sky Trail attractions fresh and on-trend. With a modular design, the courses can be extended easily, both horizontally and vertically, enabling venues to maximise their ROI from the space they have and keep offering something new for return visitors.

Keeping the attraction fresh and on-trend

Innovative Leisure likes to form close relationships with its customers for the long term, and was happy to help the National Water Sports Centre to make its upgrade plans a reality. Time was of the essence for the installation, thanks to a bank holiday at the beginning of the week and an event booking on the Friday. Nevertheless, and despite challenging weather conditions as well, the team delivered the project on time, without compromising the day-to-day running of the venue.

Visitors to The National Water Sports Centre’s high ropes course can now enjoy new tipping walk the plank, with a bell-ringing challenge once they reach the edge, and the challenging Rolling Log element, as well as other new updates. The team also added two themed bridges that feature eye-catching company branding in bright orange.

Serco’s sport and outdoor activities development manager, Matt Hancock, says: “We are lucky to have a strong partnership with Innovative Leisure to ensure we can continue to develop and grow our activity provision at Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of the National Water Sports Centre. The Sky Trail has had its first uplift in nine years, which has been a nice addition for our customers and made incredibly easy from quote to instal by Keith and his team.”

Keith Finnegan, UK sales manager for Innovative Leisure, adds: “We were tasked with supplying and Installing 7 new adventure elements for the Sky Trail high ropes course at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham, which is run by Serco Leisure.

“The idea was to refresh the course after nine years of operation, to help keep it updated and on-trend for this kind of activity, and to offer some different challenges for new and returning visitors. The brief included having some company branding on show which is something we have yet to do on any UK Sky Trail, with the finished product looking fantastic.

“We are hoping to show other Sky Trail owners that they too can update their course and add new, fun and challenging features to their course in a bid to keep up with the ever-changing face of adventure-style attractions.”

Last year, Innovative Leisure delivered 14 new attraction projects for Bourne Leisure’s Haven Holiday Parks in the UK, between February and August.
