Child-friendly interactive entertainment makes its debut in the Middle East

SPREE Interactive, a leading provider of active free-roam VR experiences, has supplied its first multi-platform VR venue in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The new attraction enables GAG Events, a specialist in PR and event management, to present a high-throughput attraction, which will be enjoyed especially by children under the age of 10 at the 2022 Jeddah Season event.

The X6 SPREE Arena is a complimentary installation for GAG’s X Reality Pavillion, with the arena able to accommodate up to 120 customers per hour on its compact footprint. The six-player SPREE Arena utilises a family-friendly game pack, expanding the GAG Events offering to a younger demographic.

Family-friendly fun

Formerly known as Holodeck VR, SPREE Interactive focuses on delivering turn-key large-scale, multiplayer commercial VR attractions for the Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) industry. The firm says its products can be installed quickly and operated efficiently by venues.

A SPREE Interactive representative says: “The SPREE Arena’s growing Family-Friendly bundle of games, composed of non-violent titles and whimsical graphics, allows X Reality to extend their family-friendly offering, with low upfront and operational costs. The whole family [will enjoy] squashing bugs on a cheese planet as a superhero mouse or protecting their tasty picnic from pesky ants.”

GAG Events project director Lucia Culkova says: “We were looking to include an attraction in our mix that would draw in a younger audience with a library of games that would compliment our other VR attractions. We chose SPREE as they provide fun, family-friendly VR entertainment that even parents can join in on.”

SPREE has been growing its family-friendly bundle with a yearly subscription of two new titles per year with ‘Picnic Panic’ being the most recent release. The growing library is also bolstered by seasonal additions designed to encourage return visits, with Picnic Panic being the most recent release. SPREE Arena has enabled GAG Events to attract more families to their venue, offering an attraction that will incentivise return visits during the Jeddah Season each year.

This month, SPREE Interactive has been celebrating being named Best in Location-Based Entertainment at the 2022 Auggie Awards.
