Camp, a family experience company with experiential toy stores, is heading to the Midwest with a new Chicago location and an immersive adventure with Doodles.
The 7,500-square-foot venue, described in a press release as “part toy store, part party venue, part immersive theater space”, will include Camp’s signature “magic door” – a pivoting wall leading to interactive family experiences.
On 19 August, the magic door will transport visitors to Camp’s latest themed experience, Doodles x Camp, a collaboration with the multimedia brand Doodles.
In the 3,500-square-foot experience, guests will crawl through tunnels into glowing lost caves filled with mushrooms.

They will enjoy a rainbow slide in the fluffy pink cosmic clouds, and do arts and crafts under 12-foot-tall daisies in the flower forest.
Visitors will also play on interactive synth noisemakers and alien arcade games in the mothership, and create their own characters in rainbow valley.
Additionally, guests will be able to shop for exclusive Doodles x Camp clothing and accessories, and adults-only Doodles events will be available in the evenings.
“The colorful, playful, and visual world of Doodles fits perfectly at Camp. It’s been amazing collaborating with their team on this new immersive experience that lets people interact with Doodles in real life,” said Ben Kaufman, co-Founder of Camp.

“I can’t wait to see Chicago families building memories together at this massive experience within Camp’s newest location. It’s going to be great.”
In addition to the Doodles experience, the new Camp store includes a canteen, 2,000 square feet of retail space, a slime creation station, a splatter room, a Campitheater for live events, and party rooms. The canteen opens today (19 July).
“The incredible team at Camp helped us bring new meaning to the bridge between physical and digital,” said Julian Holguin, CEO of Doodles.
“And through this experience, attendees will immerse themselves in the colorful world of Doodles. Get the whole family ready to meet our characters and to have some fun!”
Doodles x Camp will be in Chicago for a limited time before moving to a different Camp location. Launched in 2018, Camp operates eight venues in Atlanta, California, Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.
Camp has also collaborated with Disney on several experiences, including an Encanto-inspired attraction and another based on The Little Mermaid.
