A new nostalgic theme park called RetroEscapes is planned for Las Vegas, and will immerse visitors in lands themed to the 1950s, '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s.

According to the RetroEscapes website, the "world's first nostalgia-focused theme park and entertainment destination" will feature five lands themed to the aforementioned decades of the 20th century.

Within each land, there will be rides, attractions, retail, dining and live entertainment "tailored to the unique cultural and aesthetic elements of each of the five decades".

Additionally, the planned park would include a 'Tomorrow Zone' that provides "a glimpse into the unknown future", RetroEscapes said.

"Whether you're reliving your youth or discovering an era for the first time, RetroEscapes invites you to have a blast in the past," it added.

The park's developer Daniel Leo announced the project in a recent Instagram post. He wrote: "We're bringing a theme park to Las Vegas."

He added, "Been holding this in for a long time, it’s more than 7 years in the making, but my father and I are bringing the world’s first-ever nostalgia-focused theme park to Las Vegas."

Leo said RetroEscapes "will be the only place on Earth where you can experience the 50s-90s all in one place".

The design work for RetroEscapes is reportedly being carried out by PGAV, a global leader in the planning and design of unique destinations.

Nostalgic experiences, one of blooloop's top immersive trends to watch in the attractions industry this year, can create emotional bonds and a feeling of shared history between guests.

Recent attractions developed for wistful millennials include the world's largest, playable Donkey Kong arcade machine at the Strong National Museum of Play, and a Teletubbies-themed rave at Area15.
