Othership
Robbie Bent is co-founder and CEO of Othership, an immersive social-bathhouse experience with locations in Toronto and New York.
The concept addresses loneliness and its detrimental effects on individual and collective health, offering both online and physical experiences that explore the benefits of breathwork in a fun and accessible format.
On-site experiences include heat and cold, sound, light, and guided facilitation.
“Crucially, the design language is drawn not from spas but from group therapy, psychedelic-medicine retreats and transformational workshops,” says one nominator.
“That lineage is what separates Othership from wellness as usual: Bent is engineering peak experiences and altered states, using the body and the group as his medium.”
Coming at a moment when much of the experience economy is solitary, Othership stands out as a pioneering social model.
“In a field that often equates immersion with spectacle and story, Bent has built something quieter and arguably more radical: immersion as collective bodily experience,” a nominator says.
Before launching Othership, Bent served in roles at Ethereum, INVI Energy, Roamly, American Capital and Chanin Capital Partners.
He is a long-serving Big Brother mentor, volunteer builder with Habitat for Humanity International, and fundraising volunteer for Covenant House Toronto’s annual Sleep Out Next Generation event.
