Romaire Studios is a Los Angeles-based creative production studio specialising in live-action creatures, characters, animatronics and animated or non-animated props for the worldwide entertainment industry. Founded in 2000 by Emmy Award-winning artist Lee Romaire, the studio combines artistry, engineering and performance expertise to create believable, high-impact characters for film, television, commercials and themed entertainment.
With a background in make-up, puppets and special effects, Romaire Studios has grown into a trusted partner for major entertainment companies seeking movie-quality realism and advanced animatronic development. The studio has helped set new standards for theme park animatronic figures, bringing together sculpting, mechanical design, fabrication, performance and show integration to create characters that feel alive.
Romaire Studios’ work is supported by in-house engineering capabilities, rapid prototyping, SolidWorks design, electric actuation expertise, show-set and show-action integration, and robust project management systems. Its team manages everything from blue-sky concept development and traditional or digital design through sculpting, moulding, casting, mechanical fabrication, testing, installation and live or pre-recorded performance.
The 7,000-square-foot Los Angeles studio provides a dedicated environment for prototyping, design and fabrication, enabling the team to move from concept to finished character with control, precision and confidentiality.
