The Aquarium in San Sebastián is the latest client to join Imagineear’s fast-growing portfolio in Spain. The part-aquarium part-museum, the first to be built in Spain and located in the Basque Country, is the home of the Oceanographic Society of Gipuzkoa for teaching and learning. The museum houses an exhibition dedicated to the marine and maritime history of the region. Following a series of renovations, which tripled the amount of exhibiton space, the new facility is one of the most advanced and is the first Aquarium in Europe equipped with an underwater tunnel that allows 360° viewing.
The Aquarium asked Imagineear to upgrade their existing audio content into an engaging, self-guided multimedia tour. Imagineear’s creative and project management teams reworked the script to match the existing visual assets and audio to create a content-rich tour with slideshows and updated videos. Visitors are able to choose to navigate the tour using a keypad or scrollable list.
“It’s a fascinating museum and a wonderful aquarium and it was a pleasure to work with their brilliant team.”, said Julia Laflin, Project Manager. “We created a completely bespoke interface design, which perfectly complements the client’s branding and the look and feel of The Aquarium, and the MPti™ is the ideal frame to showcase a tour that really engages the visitor and adds value to the whole visitor experience.”
“It’s been a pleasure to partner with Imagineear on this project. The work they have done to convert our old audio guide into an awesome new multimedia tour is genius!”, said Alejandro Larrode Fernández, Museum Coordinator. “We couldn’t be happier with the result and we are so grateful to the Imagineear team for all their help and advice during the process.”
The multimedia tour is available to visitors in Basque, Spanish, French and English, and coming soon in German.
