This summer, the Eden Project in Cornwall is opening a new adventure play area called ‘Nature’s Playground’ featuring a giant ‘Tree of Life’ structure.
Nature’s Playground will be one of the largest outdoor play areas in the South West. It will include slides, swings, water play, suspended nets and a miniature clay quarry.
The centrepiece is the Tree of Life tower, where children can crawl and climb up to the viewing nest at the top before travelling back down in a corkscrew tube slide.

The 500-square-metre area will provide sensory and accessible play, immersing Eden’s youngest visitors in a woodland world made from natural and sustainable materials.
“Eden is all about connecting with the natural world and we are investing hugely in play to encourage children of all ages and abilities to discover this connection in an exciting and unforgettable way,” said Eden’s chief marketing officer, Emma Evans.
“We know that being active outside in the fresh air is a brilliant way for children to develop mentally, physically and emotionally, stretching their imaginations and engaging with the world around them, all while having fun and creating rich memories.”
Sensory and accessible play
Earlier this year, the Eden Project’s co-founder Sir Tim Smit confirmed plans to build a hotel for the eco-tourism attraction in Cornwall using local materials.
In January, Eden was awarded £50 million from the government’s Levelling Up fund to create its new destination in Morecambe, Lancashire.
In addition to a series of new UK-based sites, the Eden Project is developing green attractions across the world, from South America to Australia.
