greenloop: WhiteWater to moderate a panel on sustainable attraction development

News

Una de Boer, Chief Marketing Officer at WhiteWater will moderate a panel on Sustainable Attraction Development – How to Plan to Build Better at greenloop 2022. Joining her is Franceen Gonzales, Chief Experience Officer, Whitewater West Industries, Eric J.O’Rourke, Senior Director of Theme Parks, Forrec, and Andreas Andersen, CEO, Liseberg.

Taking place online from 19-20th April, greenloop will bring together leading sustainability professionals from the world’s major museums, theme parks, zoos and other visitor attractions. They will share strategy insights and lessons learned to inspire us all to become more sustainable in our businesses and help protect the planet.

Building sustainably

It is becoming increasingly important that new developments demonstrate their sustainability plans to win approval from local governments, consumers and future employees. This greenloop session will show attendees how to set up a new attraction project to be sustainable at each initial step.

Considering the long-term carbon impact of an attraction has implications for how it is designed, built and paid for. This panel of experts brings together perspectives on design, ride manufacturing and operating an attraction to guide greenloop attendees through all considerations needed to ensure a project is green from the beginning.

The panel will offer practical advice, focusing on steps you can include in the feasibility, design and ride selection stage of the development process. The session will discuss:

  • What you should be looking for in sustainable design and equipment
  • How feasibility studies can include sustainability factors
  • How to buy better without a professional purchasing department
  • How to structure a supply RFP to ensure sustainability is incorporated
  • What you should consider to ensure a ride is as environmentally friendly as possible
  • What a sustainable development project plan includes
