7thSense Design, the multi-award-winning media solutions specialist, has announced the completion of its merger with Medialon, a world leader in show control.
The team behind 7thSense acquired the Medialon brand and ShowControl activities from Barco in June 2019, forming Medialon Limited. Over the last year, the Medialon team and product line have both grown, from offices in Canada, the UK and the USA.
The integration strategy became effective on 1 October this year. All Medialon products have been added to the 7thSense product portfolio, where they have kept their original product names. All Medialon staff members are now part of the 7thSense team, where they will continue working on the range of Medialon products.
Medialon team joins 7thSense family
Matt Barton, 7thSense CEO, says, “The synergies between Medialon and 7thSense have been demonstrated since the 2019 acquisition – this merger is intended to cross-pollinate the knowledge and skills of both companies while maintaining independence and flexibility of each of the product lines which will continue to be developed.
“Both Medialon and 7thSense are well known for their commitment to the support of products and users. By combining our teams, we will continue to build on that reputation. We are now proud to be one.”
Eric Cantrall, who previously served as VP of Business Operations at Medialon, will now take on the role of Director of Products at 7thSense Design. Here, he will continue to have Product Manager responsibility for the Medialon product range.
“We are keen to share functionality between product lines, where beneficial to do so, but we also recognise the need for the products to stand on their own and be agnostic of each other,” says Cantrall.
“We fully intend to continue to offer this level of flexibility and ensure that customer needs are met by our product range. This is a hugely exciting time for both companies as we join forces and become one family!”
Last week, 7thSense announced the promotion of Jack Dowd to the position of Product Manager for its Delta Media Server range. Earlier this year, Medialon premiered its new product, Showmaster Go, at ISE 2020.
