Partnership proves valuable between British firms

7thSense, the multi-award-winning media solutions specialist, has announced it will be working in partnership with PHABRIX on a new project.

Established in 2004, 7thSense are specialists in advanced media serving, pixel management and show control. Its clients are found in sectors including amusement parks, science museums, planetariums and entertainment venues. Its services are often used for digital signage, live events and projection-mapped installations.

Ensuring compliance

PHABRIX Ltd is a leading test and measurement instrument manufacturer, providing top of the range solutions for SMPTE compliance verification.

The companies will work to develop the capability of next-generation output formats of network IP using SMPTE ST 2110, including UHD/4K 12-bit 4:4:4 60p.

7thSense is utilising the PHABRIX QxL 25G IP ST 2110 rasterizer for SDI and advanced IP 2110 in-house product verification and at onsite installations, to efficiently verify compliance to an ever-changing list of SMPTE standards to support customers’ workflows.

PHABRIX has its headquarters and manufacturing facilities based in the UK and is a member of the Japanese Leader Electronics Corporation group of companies.

Great partnership

7thSense CTO Richard Brown says “This is really the future of connectivity, and we are now able to output formats that have not been used in the themed entertainment and visitor attractions world up until now – working closely with PHABRIX to do so.

“We are now delivering SMPTE 2110 support from our Delta Media Server and Juggler pixel processing products, and we need to ensure all our solutions are compliant with specifications.

“Having worked with the PHABRIX team and their Qx products previously, we recognised their superb customer service and understanding of SMPTE 2110, as well as their willingness to work with us to support new industry-leading standards such as 12-bit 4:4:4 60p.”

7thSense partnered with the Eden Project earlier this year to deliver the Eden Project Pavilion at COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which took place in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November 2021.
