Barco to showcase I600 & QDX projectors at ISE 2024 - I600

Additions to the firm’s flagship product range set new standards for image quality

Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualisation solutions, has revealed two new projector platforms in its flagship product range, the I600 and QDX.

The new signature line projectors were created to set a new benchmark for visual excellence and flexibility, and deliver greater resolutions and brightness levels in a smaller design than is presently available on the market.

With this launch Barco asserts its standing as an industry pioneer. By developing new lines such as the I600 and QDX, the firm supports the advancement of the industry and lays the foundations for future innovations.

The firm will showcase the new projectors at ISE 2024, which is taking place 30 January until 2 Febraury in Barcelona. Attendees can find Barco in Hall 2 at booth #2M100.

Elevating immersive experiences

The I600 4K UHD single-chip laser phosphor projector is designed to set new standards for image quality in immersive experiences. It provides outstanding colour fidelity, high resolution, and a long lifespan.

The new Barco-patented SuperShift technology produces ultra-sharp 4K UHD images, while the incorporation of next-generation Barco Pulse electronics guarantees a seamless experience with smoother visuals at the lowest latency.

In addition, the I600 is the most portable model of its type, with a compact design and a weight of less than 23 kg (50 lbs). It is also accompanied by a new line of interchangeable lenses. The ILD lenses feature a ratio ranging from 0.37 UST to 7.4:1 long-throw.

Frederik Bouckaert, senior product manager for I600, says: “The I600 takes affordability and high-resolution projection to new heights. This projector is designed for long-lasting image quality, multichannel compatibility, and versatility in a wide range of applications like artainment, museums, corporate events, simulation environments, projection mapping, and many more…”

Flexible installation

The QDX projectors are a new addition to the Barco three-chip range. With features including native 4K resolution, REC. 2020 colours, and brightness levels of up to 40,000 lumens, this feature-rich projector offers an enhanced visual experience.

The QDX is also compatible with existing TLD+ lenses,  which provides the greatest flexibility in installation. The projector’s straightforward and user-friendly interface makes it simple to use, and suitable for both experienced users and those who are new to the industry. The inclusion of IoT enables remote projector management, which improves operational efficiency. In addition, its lighter unit reduces installation time and transportation expenses.

Alexis Skatchkoff, QDX senior product manager, comments: “Customers and partners are eager to embrace the long-awaited next-gen three-chip projector in their fleet. And this first release is only the tip of the iceberg with new innovations in terms of light-source modularity coming in the next phases of the QDX roadmap.”

Redefining standards

In addition to their innovative hardware, the QDX and I600 have also been developed to support a variety of software tools for both on-site and off-site operations. The projectors are fully integrated into the Barco software ecosystem and include the most recent versions of software tools such as Pulse Prospector, Pulse Mobile App, Pulse Toolkit, and Insights Management Suite for improved on-site and remote control.

An immersive and hassle-free experience is provided by the Barco Pulse ecosystem and worldwide support offering. Customers are supported to confidently and easily harness the full potential of these devices.

Ta Loong Gan, EVP Immersive Experience, comments: “Compact, powerful, and versatile; the I600 and QDX are a testament to Barco’s dedication to redefining visual standards, offering a comprehensive solution for various applications, from mid-segment to high-end installations.

“We’re excited to finally enter the market with these new products and continue our growth based on innovation. As we embark on this new chapter, our mission remains clear – to empower businesses, creators, and audiences alike with tools that inspire, connect, and elevate the way we visualize the world.”

Last year, Barco revealed that it has provided the projectors for a new, immersive exhibition space at Belgium’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA).
